    Default Frustrated with Walgreens

I had two coupons for .75 off ban deodorant last week combined with the sales I could have bought them each for .24. I went up to the counter with three tubes (they were on sale for .99, limit three ) and the cashier told me they were the wrong size. I then went back to that aisle and picked up the only one they had left and purchased it. I told my MIL that I was getting three for her since she uses this kind. How disappointing this was for me.

I stopped at Walgreens today and was going to get the buy three Aveeno products and get the free travel kit (they have a 2.00 off coupon inside). I had two other really good coupons, but they were out of travel kits already. I ended up just buying two of the good cream containers since they were on sale anyway and used my coupons.

It just frustrates me that things go so quickly there and they don't keep the items stocked up. Would it do any good to complain to the company or is it a waste of my time?

This is exactly why I don't shop at Walgreens...they NEVER have the advertised stuff in stock and after only a few times with that, I never went back. Waste of my time....and I'm not running to every Walgreens in town!

I always found their deals frustrating. When DD was in diapers, everyone else was getting these great diaper deal with that spiffy coupon from some booklet and I got squat. I find CVS much more shopper friendly.

Have you asked if they are getting another truck in before the sale ends? I've done this at CVS. The items sell out early in the week, but they get another truck in on Thursday. Usually I can get the item I wanted on Thursday night or Friday.

This problem varies some from company to company & at different locations. Some stores/companies are just "helpful" & want you as their customer, others don't seem to care. Good luck finding those deals!

Walgreens used to be one of my favorite stores to shop at until the converted their rebate program into the register rewards program. Half the time, my register reward coupon will not scan when I go to use it. I hardly ever shop at Walgreens now. Maybe once every two months. CVS, on the other hand, has become my favorite store. I never have a problem with extra care bucks and the employees there.

I went to Walgreens this morning and left annoyed and frustrated. I had 8 coupons cut out to use and they had two things in stock. Also I had a coupon from the flyer for any variety Scrunchi brand hair elastics under 3.99 The girl wouldnt take the coupon because the picture on the coupon was black ones but I had a multi colored pack. They were the right brand, the right kind and well under the 3.99 price. I asked when the stuff was coming back in stock and she said there was another truck on Thursday at the earliest. UGH,I am so done with that place.

I have the same problem with Walgreens. You can never find their specials even on Monday. I've gotten rain checks before and never saw the product again for months.
CVS is not in my town so I don't have one of their cards.

I am lucky I have two Walgreens in my town. One is better than the other-go figure. If you complain, complain to the district manager. They will do something about it. Usually you can find out this information online or you can ask the store manager for contact information. It is good to do this because they may be unaware that it is an issue.

I was going to ask if they still give out rain checks (they did when I worked at Walgreen's), but apparently even that doesn't help!

Something else I've noticed with my Walgreens for the past 6 months or so is they don't list the sale price on the shelf to match the price in the ad.

COMPLAIN! By all means COMPLAIN...........how are they going to know? And ---at the very minimum.........go to the manager!

And quite a few of our stores are doing the same thing........I DO NOT feel that it is a case of 'they go so quickly' I think it is that they didn't have that many on hand to begin with.........which...depending on the number.......can be illegal. To advertise a sale a store has to have X amt. of the product on hand.........not sure what the number is but I have made that comment to many managers.

I quit shopping at Walgrens for that reason...........PLUS......they would advertise a higher ounce on something than they even carried in the size. Three times I 'pitched a bitch' in there over that.........deodorant, hershey bars, and I think the other was shampoo......but not sure. Had them PRO RATE it out for the price they advertised. REFUSE to shop there. I have one about a mile from my house too.

you know if you complain enough, they will eventually do something if for no reason than to shut you up.

I would complain to EVERYONE in the store at every chance I got.

This really surprises me since the Walgreen's in my area are exceptional.

We have four Walgreen's in our city. Two I refuse to go to because of the location. If I need a bulletproof vest and four armed guards to walk in the store, I just stay away. But, the other two I go to several times a week. Rarely are they ever out of the sale items.

The one in the middle-class part of town will occasionally run out of an item, but within two days they are restocked. Whereas the one in the upper-class area of town, they never run out of anything. They put the store coupons on the shelf tags by the item, have great signage and normally have a section on an end cap just for the items that are deeply discounted or are free after RR.

I love our Walgreen's. One of my favorite websites is WildForWags. Thanks to the girl who runs this site, I get several free items from Walgreen's every week.

WalGreens around here is terrible also. I so much prefer our local CVS to WalGreens. Cvs always has what they've advertised or will get it for you from another store, or give you a raincheck. They go out of their way to make you happy. CVS has GREAT clearances too! I'm a huge fan of CVS. Last time I was in WalGreens the girl behind the counter acted like the very last thing she wanted to do was wait on me. Even ignored me until I repectfully demanded that she attend to me. The whole time she sighed and acted totally put off that she had to do her job. Very annoying, I have a 20 year old cousin who would love her job if she does not like it. They could trade, she could walk all day long hanging pizza flyers on doors for less then min. wage and a meal a day and he could take her place in air conditioning pleasantly waiting on customers!

Our Walgreens - the only one on the island until the new one opens on the other side of the island next week - seems to run out of some coupon items quickly. My hair dye is a coupon sale quite often, but sometimes is never restocked between sales - that's a lot of empty shelf space.

Our CVS is still not a real CVS - still hanging on to it's local facade -so we don't get the good deals talked about here!!

Bottom line - will take the bargains where I can, but sure would like to see specials stocked!!
