Unhappy Staples penny deals -- I just saw the ad

The Staples penny deals are not a good a deal a they use to be, at least in my area.

The items that are selling for a penny have a with minimum of $5 purchase.

    I'm so bummed.

    Penny deals
    list for next week are
pocket folders 1 cent with $5 min purchase limit 10 per household
8 pack yellow pencils 1 cent limit 2 with $5 min purchase limit 2 per household

Also have pack mulit paper 1 cent after instant rebate. I 'm not sure how a instant rebate works.

From my understanding, instant rebates are taken off at the cash before they total up your purchase.

I'm so bummed, too! I have a Staples really close-by and run in and get the 1 cent deals every year. Now that they are requiring the $5.00 minimum purchase I don't know if it will be worth it. I do sometimes buy other items so we'll see.

Thanks for the heads up, I've been waiting for this and at least now I know what to expect. I checked our ad and it's the same here.

The multi purpose paper is not an instant rebate but a mail in or online rebate. For the life of me I don't know what the problem is, but I've done their rebates probably three times buying exactly the right item and doing the rebate the way they say to do it, and every one has been denied! I stopped doing them altogether.
