No more WM for me!!!
Well I just sent an email to WM corporate. On my last visit 2 weeks ago I had 2 price matches from 2 local stores which has never been a problem. I was told they changed policy and will now only price match stores within their county! Ummmm not every county has a WM, mine being one of them which is why I drive 35 miles to shop at one. Not anymore. I'll continue to drive 35 miles but only to shop at Giant Eagle and Buehlers. WM can

I can't say I've been feeling warm and fuzzy towards WM lately either. I haven't been to ours (also quite a hike) in some time. They've become very difficult, it's certainly not about service any longer.
I've started shopping our local Redners. I like that it has made a point of supporting local farms more. The produce section is brimming with baskets full of fresh vine/tree ripened fruits and vegetables. Above the baskets is a sign indicating the farm & the farmer's name.

I almost had an issue last week with WM myself. I bought some sun block SPF70 for $13.49/small tube. The follow week they're on sale for $9.97. I brought them their own flyer and asked them to price match. The customer service person said no so I demanded a manager. The manager had issues with it too until I made a bit scene stating loudly to the 10 people in the line behind me that they won't honour their own 'every day low prices' and price match themselves. Needless to say I got my price difference refunded. Darn tootin' I'll be stalking their flyers to save my precious pennies!

I haven't been in quite awhile. The recent article about tracking tags in their clothes hasn't swayed me any towards them either.
DD will go to the campus near them in fall and I still don't know if I'll shop there. Drama is for late night tv.

walmarts lines are rediculusly long. Their cashiers are amazingly slow. I am 8 months pregnant and sciatica has raised its ugly head so the half hour line waits are too much for me now. I have shopped at taret more and locally for groceries always because prices are better at my local small store than at walmart. not to mention walmarts meat is horrible. No thanks they have turned me off far too much.

A friend told me she waited for 50 minutes in line to check out, and it was 10 pm. She said they had 3 regular lines open and 2 20 items or less open.

it's too bad that WM is sabotauging themselves.

While looking up more information on Wal-Marts tracking tags I came across this. It was produced in 2004. I can't believe I never saw this before. Reaffirms my stand on buying American made. Since this layoff we've been trying to do everything we can to live as cheaply as possible, not feeling so good about that anymore. I think we are going to start paying more for made in America, or we are just going to do without if we can't afford it.

I used to be a CSS for Walmart before my pregnancy, and I think one of their biggest issues is lack of training for new personnel.
I was hired before our new store opened, and basically, we spent one day shadowing the managers at another store, and then were left to sink or swim on opening day. I was supposed to work until 5pm that day...I didn't clock out until after midnight because the night CSS staff was even less trained than we were. The hours of instructional computer videos have nothing to do with customer service issues that are constantly being changed and handled at the discretion of whoever is handling the issue.
Luckily, the one near me isn't too horrible. They're always dreadfully understocked, however...and there is one older cashier in there that I came seconds away from just jumping behind the register and showing her HOW to operate the darn thing, lol.

Maui, I mentioned this in the email. I also told them if I wanted to buy from China, Mexico, or wherever I'd buy a plane ticket and take a vacation. I also told them I'd gladly pay more for good Ol' made in the USA items. In the last year they have completely stopped selling at least 7 items we used to buy specifically from them. We didn't spend a penny there today and I have so much more to show for it.
