Default Best Deal I Found This Week 12/6/10

We went shopping yesterday, something we rarely do. The markets are all about 30 minutes or farther away; so, if I'm near a market and I have time, I go!

The best deal I got was $3 off produce with a $15 purchase. Hopefully, I'll find better bargains when I go again later in the week....

    So, what did you get?

Aldi's had 12 ounce beef bologna marked down to .25 each.
I got the very last one in the box.
They were marked down because they hit expiration that day.
I guess I should have been in the store earlier that day

Another crappy week at Publix LOL. Best deal this week is cat food.

    Meow Mix 3.5lbs BOGO $4.89 - (2) $1/1 coupons = $2.89 for 7 lbs.
I'll probably pick up 8 bags, in 2 different trips so I don't deplete their stock too badly LOL.

Went to the grocery store yesterday and found two pretty good deals.

First, Hilshire Farms deli sandwhihc meats are usually $2.99 a container, some was hitting the date this week so they were marked down to $1.85. I had a 35c coupon so it ended up being $1.50 plus tax.

Second, was cereal, I had coupones for all sorts of Kellogs and Big G, but the best deal was the honey bunches of oats. They were on sale for buy one get one, so it ended up being $1.65 per box. I had cereal on my list, so I neded up getting 2 boxes.

Oooo I got a great big pineapple for $1 at the produce market yesterday And another loaf of Jewish Rye bread for .50...though it took a little work to get LOL. They didn't have a bread table out, so I went over to the bread isle, and sure enough, there were plenty of loaves with a best by date of that day (Dec. 10th.) So I asked the stock boy behind me in frozen foods when they would put the older bread out at a discount. Very articulately he said, "I guess that means there 'aint any old bread." To which I responded, "Well, there's an entire shelf full of bread that has a best by date of TODAY." So he goes, "OH...I'll go ask then." So a manager comes out and says that any bread with a best by date of that day is discounted to .50.... and if there's any with a best by date of before today, he was going to kill someone. LOL. There wasn't any that I found, but he didn't seem too enthused about the many loaves that weren't put out at a discount yet....

At least now I know when I go in, I can grab anything I want that they haven't "found" yet, and get my .50 bread!

I went to RiteAid on Saturday and made out pretty good.

    1 gallon mild $2.49
Hershey Kisses 2/$4 - $1Q and had another Q for buy 2 get one free which took off the regular price of $3.59 so I got 3 bags at $1 each
    1 Nivea body wash $3.99- $1 Q

after sales, tax and coupons I paid $9.88 and I earned another $3 in up rewards. I also got a raincheck on the Arm & Hammer laundry soap for $1.99 after up reward and I hope to find a coupon for it in the meantime.

I see some money making toothpaste in this weeks ad.
