I tried Aldi's Mazipan
Aldi's had some Marzipan on sale 50% off. A piece a bit bigger than a kind size candy bar was now .49 cents.
Oh my oh my it was delightful. So good
Very decadent
I bough the one covered in dark chocolate but they had other varieties."Everyday as your walking down the street, everybody that you met has an original point of view" -Arthur PBS

Are you referring to the foil wrapped green, pink, and I believe gold and blue bars?
Good Gracious they are good. I never like marzipan but I love almonds so I gave the green ones a try... these have the hazelnut chocolate cream in the center. Fresh, soft, delicious! I don't think I've ever had fresh marzipan before.
Our Aldi's was already sold out by the time I got back last week

The one I bought was gold wrapped. Classic Marzipan - almond flavor to "die for" -covered in dark chocolate.
They had the green one you mentioned. The pink one was cherry something. I didn't look close at that one
here is a picture of them and their normal 99 cent price.

Sure makes me wonder what their marzipan stollen at Christmas tastes like"Everyday as your walking down the street, everybody that you met has an original point of view" -Arthur PBS

Those are the ones! I bought 4 of the green logs to try as I figured if the hazelnut cream didn't help it then I could at least eat the cream and pitch the marzipan. Wouldn't touch the cherry one at all but next year... I'm stocking up on the gold and green! LOL
