Our Walmart went up to $3.79 a gallon a couple of weeks ago. I am just thankful I don't go through a gallon a day like I used to. Now we go through about 3 gallons a week.

I went to Dillon's last night (a Kroger store). I was looking for cream cheese. The Kraft Philidelphia in the 8 oz. tub was $2.73! The 8 oz. block of Philidelphia cream cheese was $2.51! When did this happen? Margarine is going through the roof, too. Parkay stick margarine was $2.15 a pound. Butter was on sale for $2.99, so I bought butter. I am thinking of getting some more butter, because I am afraid the price of it will go up too.

We use milk for cooking & baking only. When I find it on sale- I freeze it in 1 cup & 2 cup ziploc containers. Then when a recipe calls for milk, I defrost it in the fridge or for last minute defrosting place in a warm bath. Mix it well & it works great. Any leftover milk we make omelets for dinner or biscuits/dumplings or pudding for dessert. Just a little tip!

I saw Tillamook butter for $5.29 a pound at Albertsons yesterday. EEK! Glad I still have some in the freezer.... and here's hoping for some good sales soon!

Last year before the holidays, the cheapest price on butter was $1.50 lb. So with everything being so much higher this year, when it went on sale last week for $1.99 per pound (Land O Lakes) I bought 10 lbs and put it in the freezer.

Yes, I think $2 is a stock up price... maybe even $2.50 with how crazy prices have gotten.
