Default Found a good deal on turkey pieces at the meat counter.

Today, I needed onions. So I grabbed a backpack, some $$$, and my Kroger card, and walked to the store at 6:30 a.m.! (It's only a half-mile away).

I found fresh turkey marked down: b/s breast pieces for $0.99/lb; turkey thighs, $0.50/lb! I bought all the breast and thigh packages -- 9 lbs worth! (The breast hunks cost $4.00; and the thighs $2.60). I am going to crockpot those up w/ enchillada sauce. Tonight, we'll have turkey and pinto bean burritos. I'll freeze any leftover turkey/enchillada filling.

Usually, the meat dept isn't putting out new stuff that early. I find that going around 8:30 or 9 is usually a very good practice, when shopping for marked-down meats.
