Thrift store's emergency liquidation sale!
One advantage in living in a small town -- when people finish their garage sales or spring cleaning, they donate to the only thrift store in town.
This past weekend, there must have been a lot of garage sales that I never found! Because the thrift store was overflowing.
They were having an emergency liquidation sale. Fill a grocery bag for $1. Fill a large trash bag for $5.
The kids and I filled 5 grocery bags. Filled 3 -- plus a bin of Lincoln Logs -- for $4. Loaded up the car, and went back in. Filled 2 more -- plus two 3-D puzzles for $3. Loaded up the car & came home.
Whew! We have to unpack, but I know I've got yarn, knitting needles, and a YOGOURMET yogurt maker in my bag!

I've lived here 2 years, and I'm only catching on to the deals now. I kept expecting to find the killer deals at the same places as my old location (which had a wonderful Goodwill and unbelievable garage sales)!
Here the garage sales aren't too hot (only 5 listed in the paper last weekend). And Goodwill is an hour away. But finding that the tiny thrift store gets MORE than they can deal with! That's a bargain.2012 Knitting in progress
