Default Free Malt-o-Meal Cereal at ShopRite!

I'm so excited! Malt-o-Meal cereal is on sale for .88 a bag this week. A few weeks ago, I traded online for a gajillion .50/1 coupons that will double and make the cereal free! I'm going to have to head over every day to pick up 4 bags a day (you can only use 4 of the same coupon at ShopRite) and stock up!

I saw this sale at Shoprite, and I was going to get a few bags for my son (even though I didn't have coupons). I got there and I swear it was TOTALLY WIPED OUT! Disappointing I don't think I'll have time to go back this week. Oh Poo.

Good Luck on getting the deal !

Is Malt-O-Meal like Cream of Wheat at all? Just wondering, as I'd like to go get some if it is. Thanks!

    Maggie,
Malt-o-Meal is just a non-name brand cereal that is basically like a generic of popular cereal. Tootie Frooties is Froot Loops, Marshmallow Maties is Lucky Charms, Frosted Mini-Spooners is Frosted Mini-Wheats, etc. I could never get those cereals for as cheap as I get Malt-o-Meal and since my kids are growing up with the Malt-o-Meal, they don't know the difference!

To answer your question, I believe they do make a cream of wheat type cereal, but that's not what is on sale this week.

Ahhhh, okay. The regular cereals. Gotcha! I like those cereals, too. I'm going to go to ShopRite tomorrow and check it out. Thanks for the clarification.

Woe, great price espeically if you have coupons, we don't get those kind of deals here, wish we did .
That cereal is just as good as "name" brand ones, if you have kids that won't go for it, just put them in the bags of the kind they like and they will never know, luckily my kids don't care for now anyway. Our 18yr old would not touch cereal that he knew was not the "brand", silly boy

Jackie, can you get a rain check on them there? Not sure if that store gives them but what we have here does, worth a check anyway, I have no idea about Shop Rite stores.

That is a really great price on them.

Thanks, I didn't think of the rain check idea. However, I did get a hold of them this week. I ran out at lunch to a different Shoprite and picked up 6 bags. I didn't have the coupons, but the price is still very good. May go back and get more. Plus Dannon yogurt is on sale there for 10/$2.99 this week, which is really great since the coffee flavor I love is usually like .89 cents per cup! They also have Parmalat milk for .99 per quart, which I like because we don't always use the fresh milk on time and I hate to have to throw it out and go get more from the store. I already bought 8 of those, but I want more. They last so long.

I think I might go over on my July grocery budget, but I want to stock up on some good sales, so it's ok.

Funny thing was I was in such a rush that I picked up 2 of the wrong size bags of the MoM, and I had to go back to the store and return them for the right size. Can you believe they charge 3.69 for a bag that is 9 more ounces than the small one? Ridiculous!

Something I've figured out is that the weekend is NOT a good time to go to Shoprite. It is SO swamped, and there is nothing left of the sales a lot of times.

I do love Shoprite, though, it's my favorite store =)

WOW! That's a great deal Amy! I would love to get in on that deal but no Shoprite around here and no deal like that anywhere. I hope you get stocked up!

jackie, u can freeze milk..i do it all the time..just wash and save plastic bottles(i use large and small soda bottles) and fill about 3\4 full ( must leave space for expansion). just shake before first use( may be just may habit)

the milk tastes just fine..i have been buying 1 gal of 1% milk at wegmans for 2.39 or so ..1\2 gal cost 2.09 ,,its like getting a 1\2 gal for 39 cents or so..

Oh you know, I used to do that, and I had forgotten! Though milk is kind of expensive around here anyway... I don't have much freezer space, so the Parmalat on sale option is the best for me right now.

Thanks for reminding me, though !
