Smith's had marked-down meats!

Well, some marked-down meats. Their frozen turkeys were still full price. And most of their hams, still full-price. The lovely rib roasts were back up to $9.99/lb.

But they had carne asada marked down to $0.99/lb. I bought 2 pkgs and threw them into the crockpot. (It's boneless, spicy chicken in marinade.) If we like them, I'll try to stock up now that they're on sale. [I think the regular price is around $3.50/lb]

And they had 3 hams marked to $0.69/lb. I asked the meat manager why just those hams and he said, "because their original packaging was damaged." Now, they weren't spiral hams, but for $0.69/lb, it was worth my while to buy 2 of them. I CRAMMED them into the fridge. Now, I've got to do some meal planning .
