    Question Coupons

I have a question and I am sure someone here will know the answer. I was searching for frugal stuff on the internet and I ran across a bunch of different "e-books" that are being sold that supposedly tell you how to get "manufacturer's vouchers" that are "better" than coupons, because you get products for free. Is this some sort of scam? Do these vouchers really exist and if so, how come you have to buy someone's book to learn how to get them? Does anybody hear know about this?

I've actually heard of this... I used to work for Giant and people would come in with vouchers, sometimes $10 off stuff, it's like a real check.

I am unsure how to get these, but if I find out I will surely let you know but if you find anything out, let us know.

The one I heard about has you sending letters to the manufacturers either praising or complaining about their products in hopes of getting a coupon or something for free stuff.

I make a habit of calling any (800) number to let a company know what I think. They have to address negative situations as well as keep doing the same positive things consistently to stay competitive and successful.

I don't e-mail as some of them don't ask for an address and therefore can't send me any coupons.

Example, Irish Spring came out with a soap that to my husband felt like fiberglass. I called and they sent me a postage paid folder to send the remaining bars in and along with it, $15 of coupons AND a coupon covering more than the cost of the soap.

I wouldn't buy an e-book, myself, but if you do and have good info, feel free to pass it along.

Yeah- I wouldn't buy an e-book... I'd ask around (as you just did) and you'll get the same, and better, info for free. Also I'm SURE someone out there has made a free website with the info you need.

I have emailed companies before and recieved coupons for free products.

I did some more searching and found a website talking about the process of sending letters to companies with a comment or a suggestion and requesting coupons. So that must be what the ebook is about. I do remember writing to Saran one time about the Saran Quick Covers, they weren't making them anymore but they sent me a coupon for a free Saran product. I will try some of the products in my cabinets and see what I come up with. I will let you guys know.
