    Default Awesome shopping trip!!

I went to Walgreen's and Homeland today. My goal was to get as much as I could for as little as possible, and pick up some allergy medicine for DH. I had an unbelievable trip! First stop was Walgreen's where I picked up their Easysaver Catalog just inside the door. I was leafing through it to see what "Instant Coupons" it contained this month. These are great, because they are "store coupons" and can be combined with a manufacturer's coupon. I see a coupon for $2.50 off the 24 ct. Tylenol Severe Allergy formula. There was also a coupon in today's paper for $1.00 of any Tylenol Alllergy formula. I had already clipped all the coupons and had my coupon binder with me. I headed over to the allergy meds. The Tylenol 24 ct. Allergy formula was ON SALE for $3.99!!!! Wow! I was really wishing I had more than one of the $1.00 coupons, but I picked up one box and headed over to the band-aids. I knew that the Nexcare Sheer 50 ct. bandages were on a Mega-Saver sale all month for $1.00 a box. These are normally over $2.00. I had four coupons for $1 off one box, so I picked up four boxes. I found some Daisy razors on clearance and had a coupon for those too, so I picked up a package. My total after coupons at Walgreen's? Drumroll, please.....$1.33

Next stop was Homeland for some Double Dollar Coupon shopping. They limit you to one "like coupon" doubled per order, but I asked very nicely if I could do multiple orders on the same shopping visit, and they said yes. Here is the list of what I purchased at Homeland:

    (4) boxes of Mrs. Smith's pie slices
    (4) Betty Crocker Warm Delights
    (4) Pillsbury Cake Mixes
    (2) packages of Keebler Fudge Shoppe cookies (I know this is alot of junk food!)
    (1) Cantalope (on sale for 44¢ a lb.)
    (1) red onion
    (4) Soft Soap body wash, Melon scent on clearance with $2 coupon attached
    (2) Dawn Complete dishwashing liquid (clearance)
    (1) box of Ziploc Halloween Treat bags (clearance)
    (4) El Monterey Half Pound beef and bean burritos

My total after coupons for all four orders came to: $2.12

My total savings for Walgreen's and Homeland combined, including sale prices and coupons was $67.83

Total cash spent today $3.45 Woo-hoo!

Wow! That's a really great shopping trip I haven't been to Walgreen's in a few weeks! Usually when I pass by there I'm in a hurry going somehere, either late to pick DH up @ work or on the way back from the Hospital from visiting Ma!

I gotta check my circulars & coupons to find out what's on sale @ all the drug stores this week!

I like Rite-Aids rebate program you can enter your receipts online & it lets ya know what rebates you earn

I gotta mail in DH Home Depot rebate for a $35 gift card after buying his nailer gun kit w/the check my bank decided to pay since the money was in my account but then noticed the time the check came in which was before they added my deposit from the ATM so they bounced my check! & charged me a $27 FEE!

I would have bought more burritos, they were 83¢ each, and my coupon was $1 off two, and this store doubled so they were FREE, but I bought the last four on the shelf. I have enough coupons to get four more when they restock.

Im very envious at all this coupon stuff LOL I dont think we can do that as freely up here in Canada. As far as I know NONE of the leading chains offer double your coupons options. I was even considering signing up for a TOPS grocery store discount card so when I do get down to the US I can pay 'normal' prices LOL Why anyone wouldnt sign up is beyond me. I havent done it yet b/c I always bug the person in line behind me for theirs LOL
