    Default Febreeze

Does anyone use febreeze air freshener in their house? Do you have pets and is it safe? I'd like to use something to keep my house from smelling like dog... any suggestions?

I have 2 dogs and 3 cats and yes I use febreeze. I find that its not effected my pets at all. One of the cats likes to lay on the back of DH chair after I wash the cover (about once a week) and vaccum off chair I give it a good spray. Dh is allergic to cats and this seems to hold off any attacks.

But I also leave my home open 98% of the time. Since we are in South Florida windows and doors are open to the air all the time. Also we have wood floors which don't hold odors and I was throw rugs fairly often.

Dh also carries a bottle in this truck as he travels and has to spend the night in hotels he'll go in and spray the room go out for dinner and return to a fresh smelling room.

I try to frebreeze my house every morning. I have 2 cats & they don't seem to be affected by it. It just makes my house smell so fresh & clean.

We like Febreeze here, too-- and our 3 cats don't seem to be bothered by it at all.

I haven't tried this yet, but here's the recipe to make your own:

Has anyone tried the linen and sky scent? When I smelled it in the stores I dont think I liked it but mind you they keep all that smelly stuff in the same asile so I dont think I got a great smell PLUS it was still wet.

I love the Lysol Spray - Crisp Linen. Now if that was the scent they had in Febreeze Id be a happy camper. For now I still got that new car scent going on from the plastic in the car

I like the linen one. I don't think it is as strong as the others. I like a light clean scent, and think this is the better one.

I have 3 large, hairy dogs and I love the antimicrobial febreeze. I like the scent a lot better than some of the others I tried!!

Blech! Dont' like febreeze - too perfumey. BUT for about 20$ per gallon, I buy from a janitorial supply store starch & protien enzyme. It's much like febreeze except concentrated over 20x. It works on room odours, pet (3 dogs, 2 cats) odours, cat pee, spilled milk on carpet... and it lasts forever. I buy a jug once a year. AND there are no toxic perfumes that are potentially harmful to people and pets, and it works on everything - garbage cans, around the toilet, you name it. Completely septic safe. No brand name.... just enzyme.
    I love it.

OOh, I love Febreeze. My favorite scent is the purple one (spring & renewal), it smells wonderful. But it you want to get rid of dog smells or any thing like that I agree that the enzyme cleaner is wonderful. I bought some called "kids & pets" but I have used "Out" (I got either at Walmart). Mine says to just spray it and let it dry. It works.

I l.ove the linen smell of Lysol too. Febreeze is great, but mostly I just use 1 tbsp of vinegar to hot water bottle and mist the couch(old one when i had it), always took away any lingering odors. When we sold the couch afew months ago, i put Oxy gel all pupose cleaner(ocean pure) in hot water and sprayed, our friend says its smells so clean and f4esh. She buys it now all the time for her floors and freshens up all her rooms. It's not exspensive either.$ 2.99/ 33.8 Fl oz or 1 litre.

I use the Febreeze Allergy Reducer. It has a very light, clean scent. Original Febreeze has a horrible, strong, perfume-y scent that I hated, but the allergen reducing kind is nice.

I have switched from Febreeze to OdoBan. Someone on here suggested it and boy is it nice! Cost is $9.99 for a gallon of concentrate at Sam's Club and lasts a very long time.

I have 21 cats in my home and I smoke, it not only gets rid of odors, but if you catch a spot fast enough, it will even remove them from carpets and furniture. I'm not going back to Febreeze now.

Oh and I forgot, we have this new tom cat outside and he keeps spraying the wood on the outside of the back porch. Well that is THE nastiest smell ever! So yesterday I went out with my bottle of OdoBan and sprayed the entire bottom of the porch, haven't caught him at it yet!
