Cool Time to buy a freezer!

~I've been putting off the purchase of a freezer for 5 years now and I want one! I'd really like an energy efficient upright, about 12-ish cubic feet. It's a pretty big investment($320 and up) but I keep imagining the savings and convenience of OAMC and shopping, especially over the summer. What kind do you have? What features do you like best? Is your freezer a lemon? Any and all advice welcome! TIA!~

Ours is a GE product. We have not had any issues with it, and I am not sure if it is considered an energy saver, but there hasn't been a drastic change in our electric bill since we have had it. I think ours is like 9 cubic ft and it is a chest freezer, we down graded to a smaller chest freezer because our other one was to big for our needs.

If you are considering an upright you may consider

purchasing another refridgerator. A friend recommended that to me a few

years ago when I was looking for a freezer. I absolutely love it! It is great

for stockpiling on sales, storing leftovers, storing cooked meals for the week.

And of course you have a freezer as well for storing frozen meats,

vegetables, and OAMC, etc. Good luck on your purchase!

~That's what I have now! It has been handy, but they're both only 1/2 full. The real advantage to me was having all that space for party foods and big trays. Both freezers are stuffed and I need more freezer space. But thanks for the advice, I appreciate it!~
