    Default My bargain today!

I was in Big Lots in Amherst, NH today and they had a bargain table up near the door. I walked around and didn't find anything I wanted for the house, but bought 2 5lb bags of white cornmeal, marked 1/2 off to .65 each. So I got 10 lbs of cornmeal for $1.30! These have an expiration date of the 28th, but since I usually freeze my cornmeal anyway....

The big problem is going to be making room for them in the freezer. But I do have room in the flour tin.... (I keep 10 lbs+ flour in plastic bags, about 4 lbs in each...enough for 4-6 loaves of bread and the contents fit into my countertop canister.) Dh's comment when he saw the cornmeal: "Well, I guess we'll be eating a lot of cornbread."

(And whatever else I can think of: tamale pie, ummm...)

I'd make fried green tomatoes. Yummy!
