Red face I can't believe myself!

I decided to get up early and go to the grocery store this morning since the ads came out today. I budgeted $20 for myself for the month. I had a few freebee coupons and my local Smith's (Kroger) is having a good sale. Anyway, I'm going through the store adding everything up so I don't go over my $20. I get to $19.24 or something like that, so I try to think of one more item for about $.70. Well, I need to get to work so I say "forget it, I'll just put the change in the change jar." I get to the register and she totals it $20.24. Great I've gone over - THEN she starts taking off the coupons! My total was $13.92! Apparently, I can't add early in the morning!

So, now I can go back and stock up on more canned veges at 2/$.88!

Here's what I ended up getting:

    Barilla Pasta – Free
    Barilla Pasta Sauce – Free
    (2) Single Serve Spam – Free
    (10) Banquet frozen meals - $5.90
    (2) Spahgettios $1
    (2) Canned Beets $.88
    (2) Canned Carrots $.88
    (2) Canned Mixed Veges - $.88
    (2) Canned Corn - $.88
    (4) Canned Potatoes - $1.76
    Wishbone Saland Spritzer - $1.67 - $.75 coupon
    Kroger Tortillas $1
Somehow I saved an additional $.18 because my total was $13.92!

I'll go back and get 13 more canned veges. What else can I get for $.36??

WTG! I'd put that $.36 back into the next grocery budget. Or watch for Colgate sales/coupons-- I rarely pay more than about $.29 with double coupons/sales for Colgate.

I have to take my Dh with me or I will never get my amounts right. He has a mathmatical brain and I most certainly don't. Glad you got so much!

    That's fantastic.

We don't have coupons like you guys do. I wish we did though I would be the coupon Queen!!

I always take my calculator with me when I shop. Especially as I am shopping for a family of four for a fortnight, that way I don't have a heartattack when I get to the checkout!! I have forgotten it sometimes, but the I use the calsulator function on my mobile and hope that no one calls me!!
