25.51 lbs. of chicken for $5.75!!!!!!!!!!
And that's before my 1.50 off coupon!!! So 25.51 lbs of split chicken breasts for 4.25!! The sale by date is 4-16 and there wasn't even a manager's special tag on them yet, but they were in the system. My first transaction had some free after coupons items and some 2 liters that after coupons I got for .25 cents each (on Pepsi). I thought the total was pretty low so Ilooked at the receipt closer, put those in my car and went back in to get more. I got the rest that they had, and even asked the meat man if they had any in the back! WOW! I am so excited!! I know - doesn't take much for this gal to get worked up!
I have to add - thanks to the big man upstairs for DD being so good and quiet the WHOLE time.
I can't wait for DH to get home. He's gonna love this!

I am still excited - if my computer/internet service was updated/faster I'd post a pic or a copy of my receipt.
I'm so glad that I have you guys to share this with - none of my friends really care - they're quite "worldy" and think I'm a weirdo because I am learning to be frugal and I like it!

Wow! Where in the world can you get chicken for only $0.23/lb for white meat to boot? I can't even get dark meat for triple that price

That is AWESOME! (can you here the singing in that?) I can't get chicken breast for under $6/lb around here. We sometimes have spcials on legs backs attached for $.99/lb

That is fantastic, I wish I could run into a deal like that.
I can totally relate about not being able to share the excitement of being frugal anywhere but here and with DH of course--he is quite getting into what we can save. I told one of my coworker's once about my excitement of spending only $50.00 in a two week period to feed two people, one cat and buy all needed household and that person looked at me like I had dropped off another planet.Last edited by LuvMyHubby; 04-15-2008 at 06:33 PM.
