Do your kids have a lot of homework?

What grade were they in when they started bringing home homework? I was surprised that my daughter, who is in kindergarten, has homework once or twice a week. It's usually just a 5 minute exercise that she needs to do. I think it's great to start them doing it this young. What do you think?

My son is in 2nd grade and he has atleast 2 worksheets each night and books to read. Does anyones school offer the Book-It Program? It's a neat program that if the children read so many books a month they get a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. I think it gives the children something to work toward.

I think homework in kindergarten is too much. Baylie has it every night! They are so little. When she gets home she doesn't want to think about school. I hate to see how much homework she's going to have next year!
