Park & Rec (and other community) activities
What is available in your area?
We live in the city, and our P&R is awesome. 7yodd will be taking several classes next term that are scheduled just for homeschoolers, including swimming, a general PE class, nature sketching, and a music class. She wants to try ballet too, so we found a short introductory course. And over "spring break" she's going to an art camp.
Our church has a children's choir that dd is interested in, too.
We live rather close to the zoo, and both girls have taken short classes there. Our local science museum has some excellent classes for the girls once they are a bit older.
What types of things are your kids doing?

We go to the beach a lot and we have a small zoo here. Ds can volunteer at the zoo once he's older and there is also a wildlife rehab facility where he can volunteer once he is older. We have a sea turtle society here and they do a lot of sea turtle walks at night (in season), but you must be at least 6 years old to participate so we have a couple more years to go on that one. We see remnants of the nests (the shell remnants and tracks where the turtles have drug themselves up on the beach to lay the eggs) when we go to the beach, but going on a walk and actually seeing the hatchlings crawling out and heading for the water will be an incredible experience for us.
There are several activites held at various libraries here (arts and crafts classes, science classes, etc.), but once again the age requirement factor is preventing us from attending any of those just yet.
Our church has choirs available for ages 3 and up so ds already participates in that and also attends a preschool/kindergarten missions class.

I'm hunting for a cartooning class for my daughter. She is also going to participate in a photography workshop through 4-H.
She sings in the children's choir at church, and plays sax in the band at school. She takes piano lessons and will start playing indoor soccer in Feb.
Whew, I'm tired.
