Question What are you studying this semester that is really interesting?

We are having so much fun in our History/Geography this semester. We've been studying the Artic, Antartica and now Peru. What a thrill we've been getting to learn so many new facts, to see how the people live in these different areas, to study the animals and how both people and animals live in these places.

It hasn't only been the kids that have been excited, even mom has learnt lots and each night at the supper table, we giving dad all the facts as well.

What has been exciting during this semester for you? Anything specific?

Creationism vs. evolution. Very interesting and down right laughable at times about monkey-men and so-called missing links. Guess you can tell I don't think very highly of the evolution theory I honestly don't know how they can teach evolution in the public schools and keep a straight face!

We have been off to a slow start this semester. However, we are studying the regions of the United States and my younger one is learning some of the states as we go. It is fun because we plan on going on a huge vacation traveling to quite a few states on the East Coast this summer!

It's not really anything that we are studying, but ds (who is almost 5) has started to love the Stepping Stone chapter books in the last few weeks and begs for me to read them. I have been amazed that he has paid attention with so few pictures, but he has (and begs for me to read several chapters to him a day). We've almost read all the Berenstain Bears ones from the library and we'll be starting on the Magic Tree House series next.

His reading skills are taking off greatly as well. We're on about lesson #42 or so of 100 EZ Lessons and he is doing a fantastic job. We've also been getting a lot of the Bob books from the library and he's been reading them to dh and me.
