    Default So excited!

Blake and I went to school registration last night and I told the principal that Blake was going to dual enroll this year and that we wanted to use the schools ciriculum. (There's no way I can come up with the money to buy any, even if I had time to decide what we wanted to use) Mrs. K was very receptive and supportive, which suprised the crap out of me! We are going to meet with the 6th grade teacher Wednesday and she'll have all the stuff we need to get our books.

Thursday we are going to a picnic to meet the local homeschool group. The lady I talked to there didn't seem to think dual enrollment was a good idea and indicated there might be some folks willing to let me borrow ciriculum. It should be interesting.

Blake is starting to have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I'm looking forward to him meeting some homeschool kids.

Sounds like your adventure is just beginning~ good luck! I hope everything goes that well-- having support at the school is a great start.  Best wishes!!

Good luck to you and Blake. This is our first year homeschooling as well. You can find some homeschool cirriculum on E-bay. We did buy a packaged cirriculum this year, but next year I think I will go a less expensive route. Our books cost almost $400.

Carolyn, Blake still wants to participate in some of the schools activities, besides it just seemed like the least complicted way to go about it. I was really hoping for support from the school considering all we've been through the last few years.
