Question Homeschool check in...how's your year going?

    Hi Ladies,
I was just wondering how your homeschool year is progressing. Every year seems different here and with me going back to work part time it's harder to keep a handle on things. I do think we are making good progress though and the boys are enjoying their classes outside of our home also. The boys also took the PSAT test and we are waiting on the results of that. They think they did pretty well. I do miss being here full time and wonder if they would be doing better with me around more...

Okay. But the activities are really knocking a hole in my plans -- speech therapy twice a week; religious ed twice a week (each kid on a different day); and scouts.

On the days when we don't go anywhere, I get a lot more done.

We started our year on Sept. 1st and got off to a crazy start (hurricanes). We've settled into a good groove now though and our lessons are over with in a flash. Ds is doing wonderfully!

    Ours is going surprisingly well!

I recently bit the bullet & purchased software that hass made my life sooo much easier - I no longer have to keep up with everything on paper or try to figure everything out on my own - that's been the biggest positive thus far this year!

The negatives - well - Will's working two jobs, Katie's working & is a full-time college freshman ~ neither of them have a driver's license yet so guess how they get where they need to be!! That would be me!

Belle is doing very well. Her cheer is over (Thank You LORD!) and now I'm not out of the house every single night from 5:30 - 8:30, so I can start back to my classes....
One thing I've implimented with the kids this year that I'm totally loving - every Wednesday, they pick someone new to write to & that takes the place of their creative writing class --- the family members & buddies that are on the receiving end are loving it!

Next year, I'm going to use the "page a day" idea from Margery! I'm excited - they aren't! Such is life!!

Wow - in our home, there's 3 college students, a senior in high school, and a 6th grader.....my how time flies...

Very good. Molly said something yesterday that make me smile. "Mom, I feel like my imagination is going right through the roof!" This was during what she has named "creativity time".

Awwww..doesn't that just make all the sacrifices that we as homeschooling families make all worthwhile! Give that Molly a hug from me and tell her I'm so proud of her!!!!
