Talking Viking Unit for Early Bird

Ok you mentioned that in Egypt. So here you are. This is the reading list. Nope, didn't do a salt dough map of Scandinavia, and the lake was frozen so we skipped that.

Nor did we attach Viking horns to any headgear although tempted.

Nor did we learn to scratch runes in rocks although that was a thought albeit a tiddly fiddly one.

    But you could.

    We looked at IKEA INSTEAD!!!!!

Seriously, our reading list went beyond IKEA's current spirited attempt to remake the world's living rooms into modern clean lined Viking furniture (which I like).

I looked, can't find my reading list, maybe later but here are the ones I remember.

Rolf and the Viking Bow (classic, cant remember author)
    Viking World (usborne)
That saga poem from early England (memory is REALLY bad this morning).

I'll have to look back into the stacks at a future point, and see what else I used, I know there is more.

I vaguely recall tying it into the Dark Ages and early Middle Ages since Viking raids were such a featured event in those days particularly in the British Isles. Much of the genetic and sociological landscape of northern Scotland and Ireland was also changed by Viking raids.
