If you've ever wondered where your child is at in school, or where he/she should be
something I loved as a homeschooler was ED Hirsch's Core Knowledge series.
It was like a scope and sequence which is a what to teach when guide.
Oh and btw it's just one of MANY guides on what to teach when. Each province in Canada, each State in the US may well vary quite a bit.
contrary to popular myth, Moses didn't have another set of educational commandments tucked under one arm, that said, "and thou must teacheth, world history in Grade 6 and 10 or thou shalt risk ignorance covering the land."
sorry, couldn't resist. But it's true. These things vary from place to place as any army kid can tell you.
I digress.
here is the link http://www.coreknowledge.org/CK/about/index.htm
and it's full of interesting stuff of use to parents everywhere, not just homeschoolers wondering what to teach when.
It's useful for any parent wondering if their child is receiving an education that covers the usual things. The basics if you will.
