Default The Bathroom Unit Study Strikes Again!

Margery's Bathroom Unit Study ... and other ideas ... can be found HERE:

Low Effort Homeschooling as done by Margery

    *******************************

I put some thrift store books into the kids' bathroom:

    * Guinness Book of Records (Millenium Edition)
*Random House Book of Mother Goose (about 300 Mother Goose rhymes; some I've never heard of before).
    * Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Guide, 1993. [I also found a pin from the Balloon Fiesta in the thrift store. I guess someone decided to get rid of their souveinirs.] Anyway, this is fascinating bathroom reading, with pictures and names of the balloons that participated in the Fiesta.

    -----------------------------
Every now and then, one of the kids will quote a record from the Guinness Book .

My former Reluctant Reader now disappears into the bathroom at chore time. She recently came out and announced that she'd read 8 pages of Mother Goose !

And now the kids are ADDING to the Bathroom Study! I just went in there and spotted another 2ndhand find:

    The Young Artist's Handbook

Next, I'm thinking of sneaking in some Little House on the Prairie series books!

Great ideas! I've started one for DS! I've put in his:Scholastics's Atlas of the United States and The Kid's World Almanac of History to get started. He loves anything to do with history, especially the wars.( Civil war, World Wars I & II).
I've also hung a 3 foot by 3 foot map of the US for him to "study"!

I don't homeschool, but Katie loves the Highlights that my Mom gets for her to read in the bathroom. Heck, DH likes the seek and find in it too! LOL!
