mmhm
mine!
I'm retired now, and they have university degrees.
It works.
John Holt is a good author as are the Colfaxes. I really enjoyed the Teenage Liberation Handbook but I won't say I followed that pattern either.
Our homeschool was high school and it consisted of some writing, and a math lesson every day, but everything else was interest driven by the kids. Kind of a Robinson approach.
I sort of did unit studies, but they were homemade and based on what we felt like. I did allow text books in the house, but they were reference tools except for the math books.
I used a number of different resources in fits and starts but consistently over all, it was about encouraging curiosity and a good work/learning ethic.
Early Bird found a site that describes it as strewing.
Check it out in the homeschool/alt. learning forums here.
Placing books and learning material strategically, to encourage curiosity.
I have some threads here where I describe it as the Bathroom Unit Study.
