Smile I went to a HS conference last weekend.

I flew out to Lincoln, NE and went to the NE state conference with my sister who also homeschools. We had a great time, even though the workshops weren't the greatest. Is it like that at all conferences?

My main goal was to find some math programs for the kids and then the fun stuff. I came home with a bunch of games, some cd rom games for the computer (my favorite is Oregon Trail, which is what we are studying right now- my ds and I are having a blast doing it), also some stories and music on cds. I wanted to stay away from getting a bunch of workbooks and try to make learning more fun. I think I succeeded! The kids are loving it and we are so much more relaxed.

I also got a ton of books - readers for dd who is learning to read and chapter books for ds. I got posters and coloring books to go along with what we are learning this year and next. Those are just fun ways to get them to remember things, reinforcements I guess.

Is anyone else going to a conference?
