Smile It's Patrick first day of school tomorrow!

Just wanted to tell you all ladies that my baby, not yet 5(sept 9), Patrick is starting kindergarden tomorrow.

It's a big change for my life. I've been a sahm mom for 14 years. I've always had a child with me. No more children at home during the day. I think I might feel lonely at first. I'll be needing some support, I'm sure...

Just needed to share this with you.

    Talk to you all soon...

Lucie, Well, congratulations and good luck! Recently I've started thinking about Julia starting school (I'm a bit ahead of myself...she's only 1 1/2!) I makes my heart ache a little, but then I realize that she's growing into a happy, healthy little girl. I'm sure you feel the same way about Patrick. It's an adjustment and we're here for you whenever you need us!

Lucie---how did it go? Are you ok? I know I'll be a bit emotional next week too when Kathryn goes off by herself. PM me if you need/want to talk

    Thanks so much everyone...

We're back from school. Patrick took the bus at 7h45. I took a pic just before he got on. He was very proud and happy. He was with his two older brothers in the bus and two friends.

I met Patrick at school. I was there before he got off the bus. Actually, today was special, because the parents were invited to stay. There was a presentation of all the teachers with music of *Mission Impossible*. lol Except, the song was Mission Possible! The school is making a mission of getting everyone in the school(kids, teachers, parents) to live in better harmony. Respect and a positive attitude will be greatly encouraged this year(not that it wasn't last year, but the atmosphere had not been terrific towards the end of the year, last year).

Blah, blah, blah...I'm getting into details! Sorry. I guess I'm excited today.

They made groups of kindergarden to 6 th grade and made games together. There was a snack that was served(apples, nutribars and juice) and there was the *grand opening* of a new play structure for the kids! A group of parents have been working at finding donations since 3 years.

Patrick eventually went in the class with his teacher and the kids and the parents were asked to leave for a little while...

I peeked 15 minutes later...he was sitting still, with a smile and drawing! I think he will enjoy school.

So, this morning wasn't too hard for me. Tomorrow, he will be leaving again but for the whole day. Tommorrow should be fun too, there will be inflatable structures...LOL You must think...what kind of school do they go!? lol But seriously, next tuesday will be the real official day in school.

All this to say that so far I'm not finding it very hard...but I'll tell you tommorrow...

Thanks to all of you for listening....Thanks Chelle for your support.

    Lucie,
I'm glad it went so well for both of you

Next Thurs I ride the bus (or maybe walk/drive--not sure if she lives far enough away to qualify for riding the bus) with Kathryn to the school. There they will have a parent/child orientation for a few hours where the kids will tour the school (we did this briefly when we went for prescreening in June), meet the principal and teacher, etc.

Then Sept 6th will be her first official day alone. I think she'll do just fine--she's adjusted to social settings beautifully since we put her in preschool--it's me that I'm worried about. I guess we don't ever stop worrying about our kids, do we?

I'll update next week when she starts...

Oh, my Chelle! She won't have to walk alone to school? I imagine you would bring her? I hope she can take the bus!

You know, you are so right...we are probably more worried than they are...I don't think it does stop. Someone once told me that even when they are all grown up, we still are concerned about them. Afterall, we are parents forever and we want our kids to be happy, don't we?

I have to admit to you that later after supper I started to think about tomorrow and I'm a little anxious about it. I know he will be fine, but I have these *what if...* Tomorrow I'll be dropping in at school to help out, but I don't want to spend the day there...I know I have to let him go....but it's not easy for me. He's so small to me. He's only 4! His 5th birthday is sept. 9th.

How old is your daughter, Chelle? Has she been 5 for a longer time than Patrick?

I'll be there for you too, when she starts school. We'll cry together...lol

Do please keep us up to date...
