What age do kids want privacy?
First of all it's just me and my 2 girls that live together. We've always left the bathroom door open, changed in fron of each other, etc
The other day my 8 year old screamed at me when I walked into the bedroom because she was changing
and now she shuts the bathroom door
She can have all the privacy she wants but I never expected at 8 she would even shut her bedroom door

I have an 8 1/2 yr old boy, and he started with the "give me my privacy" about a year and a half ago. No more helping him dry off, stay at least 20 feet away from his door when he is changing! lol...he never thinks to shut the door! I know most of the kids in his class are the same way. although...he rarely gives a second thought to our privacy.

Every child is different. Ds didn't want any privace until about 9 yo. DD11 would still be running around nekkid if it weren't for her brother being so embarrassed by it. DD9 has wanted privacy from the time she was about 5. DD4... not a shy bone in her body. Embarrasses the heck outta dh..lol. She's well versed on how her body works. She recites her body parts at the most embarrassing times. Dh walks away if he can. I just quietly aggree or disagree much to the amusement of the other people in the check outs. I figure I don't react other than non challant, then she'll quietly outgrow it..lol
But everyone is different.

My 10 yo wanting privacy started at about age 7 and my 7 yo doesn't really care yet. I think every child is different and its completely normal. I do remember feeling somewhat rejected by the older child - I was like "I changed your diapers!" -lol
