felt like strangling someone yesterday.
we applied for section 8 yesterday and they barely let us in b/c of not having merrick's birth certificate and we still have to turn in jason's. but yesterday was the last day they were taking applications for it. then we went and applied for food stamps and medicaid for merrick and me. we got emergency food stamps but not the medicaid and again its b/c we dont have merrick's birth certificate. we have been trying to get it since he was born but its been a little hard since zack didnt want to get it and my mom is usually working or sleeping on her days off. so im going to call my mom later on tonight and tell her that we need to get this thing in the court done for his birth certificate and hopefully the food stamp card will be here 2morrow.

Why don't you have his BC??? Aren't those mailed shortly after birth?

Here where I am, no they're not. You have to go pay for them, wait till the hospital has sent in all the necessary documents, hope the hosp didn't mess it up, then prove you are who you say you are in triplicate before you get the application. Then you get to pay for it and if it's wrong you pay for the correction.
Whee fun
Hope you get it all worked out real soon!~~ Missy ~~

I hope you get it all straightened out Karone.
I'm glad they let you submit the Sect 8 application w/o the birth certificate before they close the list. Sect 8 is soo very hard to come by now.
We don't require BC and SS cards when people apply but a lot of Housing Authorities and other management companies do.
I hope that your wait is short and that they come up with a pot of money from somewhere to offer you something. Good Luck.

We have to pay for the birth certificates in Kansas, too, but it is relatively easy to get them by printing a form on-line, then mailing that off with a check or money order.

he was a home birth and they had me fill out a packet about it. i got the packet again last yr with jason. then when i went in with my mom they said that i needed my medical records. so we got those, then a couple weeks ago they said that b/c its been over a yr since his birth we have to go to court to get it. lol, now u see y i felt like strangling someone. so in a few hrs im going to call the court and see if we have to make a appointment or if we can walk in. i hope we can just walk in and do it but i doubt we can just walk in for it and it sucks b/c we have to do it by my mom's schedule.

Good luck....I'm a little slow I guess because I don't see what your mom has to do with it. Doesn't matter, anyways---I hope you get it all worked out.
