Question Anybody else a Girl Scout leader?

My DD is a Daisy Girl Scout. I am the co-leader of her troop. This is our first time dealing with scouting. Anybody else have any little scouts?

Our parents meeting is this Thursday. Should be interesting!

I was wanting ideas or suggestions from other more seasoned leaders or parents. Thanks!

My dd was in Sparks, last year. This sounds like your version of Daisy, from what I have heard from others.

I acted as co-leader when one of the leaders had to leave during the year.

My son just started Beavers. He could not wait until he turned 5, so he could join. He came to all the meetings for the Sparks last year, so couldn't wait to join Beavers.

We have been to two meetings for each group so far this year. So far, I am more impressed with the activities in my son's Beaver group. We already went for a hike, and had a marshmallow roast yesterday. It was alot of fun having the closing around the campfire, and it was nice to meet all the other parents as well.

What sort of ideas/suggestions were you looking for? If you could be more specific, perhaps someone will have information to share. I can look through my folders as well.

Hope you and your dd have fun together !!! yvonne

I don't know! Activities for the girls to do I guess. I am just at a loss at what to do. I wanted to know some things that have worked for other leaders, too. Thanks for responding!

I've been a Girl Scout leader for 5 years...from Daisies to Juniors now! Daisies are great...at least they don't do cookies! Follow the handbook and look online....There are great GS websites with great ideas for each age group. Make sure you go to your service unit meetings! Good luck and e-mail me if you need ideas...Julie...jooj66@aol.com
