packing a lunch
So this morning, I got up pretty early. I decided to help DH be frugal and eat healthy, yadda, yadda, yadda.
So I packed his lunch. It wasn't anything spectacular, just some grapes, a pudding pack, cucumbers and ranch, a fork, a spoon, a Lightning McQueen napkin (courtesy of Wesley) and a wrap. Wesley and I put a little note in there for Zac too.
He gets to work...emails me and says thanks for making that, it's way better than just eating chips and drinkin pop like I normally do. So I email him back and I mentioned that as a kid I never understood why my mom packed my dad's lunch, afterall he could have made it himself. But I told Zac I understood now why she did. He said I don't get it why? I said out of love. DUH!
So then he writes me back and tells me he thought it was maybe a wife to exert cntrol over one more area of her husband;s life.

Aww. Husbands never know how to say thank you in a *nice* way. Either that, or they just don't know how to say some things and keep other things to themselves!

I'm sure that he didn't realize that what he said came out the way it did. My dh says knuckle-head things like that sometimes and it makes me so mad! Then when I mention it to him when he gets home or some time later he's always like... wah? - You did a very sweet thing and I'm sure that he thinks so too.

I'd take it as a joke. He probably didn't mean anything by it at all.
My ex wouldn't have liked me packing his lunch, but he'd think it was cute if ds did it. he always said he didn't want a mother he wanted a partner.

DH isn't much of a lunch eater, so he usually just takes a container with whatever leftovers I made up for him. He's not a big snacky type guy. My biggest issue though, is trying to get him to remember to bring the darned food!

~That's funny! My hubby's always trying to get me to pack his lunch and I always respond by asking him if he's gonna make MY lunch? That shuts him up. Like I don't have enough to do.~

I pack my dh lunch 7 days a week. I also make him breakfast to take in his lunch box everday. He has to be to work at 5 am so he doesnt want to eat that early so he takes it. I also set out his clothes the nite before so all he has to do is pick them up on his way outta the bedroom.

I am so glad to know I'm not the only wife that makes her husbands lunch AND sets his clothes out for him!His good buddy knows I do this for him and tells me I spoil him too much. I say, no way, it is just a small gesture of my affection for DH.

Cute story!
Every morning, I lay out 10 pieces of bread and make 5 sandwiches and fill the lunch boxes with fruit and yogurt, etc. And, even when I'm tired in the morning, as I'm doing it, I think about dh and the kids eating them and it always makes me smile.
(And, I think about how great it is that dh isn't buying lunch at Wendy's every day.)

I make my DH's lunch the night before. I do it because I am cheap!
He just won't do it on his own, he'd rather pick up chips and junk from the gas station. So I'd rather A) he eat something relatively healthy and B) not spend the money on junk food!
He does really appreciate it though. He calls me on his lunch break to chat every day and always thanks me for making his lunch.

I'm guessing that was "thank you" from him?!!? I'm sure he said that last part with a smile that you just can;t read thru the email.
Yea that's me, total control of my hubby, one sack lunch at a time!
