Thumbs up Buh bye diapers! Three cheers!!!

My wonderful 3 year old son is finally working on the potty skilz! We started yesterday and he's been doing great! I'm so glad to finally be on the road of NO MORE DIAPERS! If I left it up to him, he would have been happy wearing diapers the rest of his life, methinks--so on Friday night I told him that when we woke up Saturday morning we were going to take off the diaper and pee on the potty. It took us awhile, but it happened! We're only using a diaper at night, but last night he woke up dry so that's a step in teh right direction there! He's gotten lots of for rewards, and he's loving that.

    woohoo. that's great!

How do you know if a child is ready? Dd will be 2 in 2 weeks and she's very obstinate about the potty situation. We bought her a dora potty chair and dora pullups, but she will scream if you try to put them on her and will only sit on potty (when she wants) for like 2 seconds. She tells us when she has pooped and if someone is going to the bathroom or she hears the toilet flush she'll say "dada pee", etc. When do you know she is ready (my son was 3 1/2).

That's the toughest question to answer! If she's having that kind of reaction, she's probably not ready.
