My 1st Foster Baby!
As everyone knows, we are on the list to adopt, so while we are waiting I offered to take the occasional baby on emergency placement status. Thursday night she was dropped off, mom was rushed to the hospital and there was no one to take her. She was 6 weeks old and beautiful!! I fell madly in love, even though she slept very little, and refused to sleep in a crib. I cried terribly when they picked her up this morning, sent her home with a new winter wardrobe and made her casemanager swear that if she is ever available for placement that they will call me. Loved her, loved the way dh was with her and how we became a family if only for a few days.

Big {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}. I remember our first foster child and when he left (he too was only with us a few short days), I cried for a couple of days.
I know exactly what your going through. Did you take any pictures? I took pictures of all of our foster kids and still look back at them with fond memories. Two of our foster kids we adopted!!
Good luck in the adoption process.52 week money challenge - $41.00

Jerseygirl, it takes a special kind of person to do what you do.
You're doing a wonderful thing for these babies!
I couldn't do it. I would cry every time one would leave me!

I know that had to be hard. I have an aunt that took in foster children. They had a newborn for 3 yrs. and then she was taken away. They keep in touch with her after 20 yrs. Hugs.

You are great people to do something like that and being on a list to adopt must have made it even harder to let go. I also know that seeing dh with a baby can make you fall in love all over again.

What a special person you are!! It must have taken all the strength you had to let her go. The world needs more like you and your husband. I hope and pray that your adoption happens quickly.

This literally brought tears to my eyes. You are so wonderful and brave to be able to do this. I cried for two days when I had to give up a cat we had fostered. I can't believe you were able to do it with a child. The world needs more generous and loving people like you.

Girls, I got more out of this weekend than the baby did! I got to hug and kiss and cuddle and rock, to walk in the park with her in a snuggli, smelling that beautiful baby shampoo smell, dress her up in all the pretty clothes I've been putting away and to finally have my pretty little nursery full of coos and giggles. This was every thing I want most.
