Default My son has his first true best friend. :)

Well to him it is, but I'm sure it'll change next week.

He's done good this week, with it being the first full week of school for him in kindergarten. He's made four new friends! It's two girls and two boys, which makes me pretty happy. He says his best friend is this little girl he sat with last night when we went to Meet the Teachers night at his school and her name is hard for me to pronounce because the family is of Arab descent. It was cute, though, watching those two sit next to each other and play and giggle all night. They kept wanting to hold each others' hands and when one would run, the other would follow...when one would sit down being tired, the other would come sit down too. It was honestly the cutest thing I've seen. The cutest part?

We got to the house and surprisingly, his friend lives in the house across the street. She started to come to the door like she was going to come inside, but when her mom called her to come home, Dakota started crying! I felt bad for him but realized that well, she does live across the street. When I went outside to sit with DH for a few, I saw her playing in her yard and wanting to come across the street to our house...

    It's so darling.

That's so cute. I can picture it. I had two little boys too, and I remember when they started making school friends. It's precious!

Oh yes, my son's best friends are two little girls that were in his Kindergarten class last year. This year, one is in his class and the other in the other 1st grade.

For a long time he had a "best friend" that we had done play dates with since he was about 1.5 yrs, but once they went to school (and it was different school districts) they haven't had the chance to see each other as often.

Now he wants to have friends sleep over. LOL

That is really adorable! How convenient that she lives right across the street!
