Favorite Books to read to your child(ren)?
Do you have a favorite book to read to your child(ren?)
I love reading Wesley the book Where the Wild Things Are. We like to read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom together too. He points out the letter and says boom boom.McD

When my son was younger he had this book by national geographic (he's a nature nut) that came with a magnifying glass and different "things" you had to fold over, spin, push and pull to find hidden animals on each page as it told a story about the animal and it's environment. Some pages had things like 13 small monkeys hidden in the trees and you had to find them all by doing all of these different things, meanwhile you read a nice 1 page story about those monkeys, where and how they lived. Gosh he loved that book and I actually liked it to. He actually ended up donating that book to a nearby youth ranch for abused and neglected children.

My son (now 20) loved The Story of Ferdinand about the little bull who just wanted to sit and smell the flowers. He couldn't say the letter "f" so he called it Kerdinand. He also loved Goodnight, Moon.
My daughter (now 16) loved Pat the Bunny. By the time she was 9 or 10 months old she could do everything the book said to do.

I actually like reading alot of old stories to Dakota. I read him The Gingerbread Man and The Three Little Pigs. He has a few books he really likes, like Pluto the Detective and Choo Choo. He's been reading to me alot and he'll read Go Spud Go! and Eddy Visits Didi to me.

I think one of my favorites to read is If you give a mouse a cookie. I have been reading that to my kids since my oldest was born...and the other day for the first time, my oldest turned around and read the whole book to me!
Other than that, we love all the Dr. Seuss books around here!

I see a lot of our favorites already listed. We love The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Where the Wild Things Are, all of the If You Give a XXXXX a XXXX (there's a new one out, If You Give a Cat a Cupcake), as well as anything by Sandra Boynton.
Some that haven't been listed:
Guess How Much I Love You
The Kissing Hand (I think that's what it's called, with the Raccoon who doesn't want to leave his mom to go to school?)
Gingerbread Baby
Suppertime for Frieda Fuzzypaws
Miss Alaineus A Vocabulary Disaster

My kids always loved the "Little Golden Books", and Nursery Rhymes.
As they got older they loved the young childrens classic's like the Little House on the Prairie, Tom Sawyer, Old Yeller, The Yearling, and Black Beauty.
I think some of the old classic books are some of the best.
