Talking My parents just left being here for two weeks!

I love my parents. Alot. But two weeks is just a long, long, loooooong time to have anyone live in your home......no matter how much you love them!
My parents came tuesday a week before Thanksgiving.......and just left today. I drove them to the airport at 4:15 AM - yea, you read that right...4:15 AM!!!!
It was nice to have them here, my mom and I get along fabulously (as long as dh isn't around.....he tends to stir the pot), and my kids really loved having Grammie and Grampie here for so long.......
now my house is quiet, messy, but quiet, and I am too tired to do anything but sit here and catch up on the last two weeks worth of "village".

Ahhhh . . . just relax and savor the memories. That is a long time! We went to CA ( I know how you just love CA ~ ) for Thanksgiving and visited family (on both sides) for a week. Let's just say I had a great time but I'm very glad to be home in my own space again!

What my mom used to say makes complete sense to me now that I am an adult..."Company.... glad to see em come, even more glad to see em go home."
Glad to hear you had a nice visit. Now, catch up on the village then take a long hot bubble bath!

Gotta say ..... no matter how much you love them there is a reason we all fly away from the nest. I'm glad to hear the visit went well.

Glad that you got a chance for your parents to visit over the holidays, but also glad that they are gone so you can get some things done (and be on FV). I wondered where you had been lately!

It's nice to have family visit and it's nice and a relief to see them go.

Now you can take time for yourself.

I love having company but two weeks is a long time. Even if it is my parents.

If I had to spend a full two weeks with my mother, one of us would not be coming out of it alive.

It's funny I was just thinking how lonely the holidays are without parents...I 'd give anything to spend two weeks with them... Glad to hear you enjoyed your time with them.

After my Mom has been here a few days she is ready to go home. She has her little habits and so do we. She likes her "ME time" too. My sister is one who doesn't like being alone often but even she is ready for a break if Mom is over there too long.

I'm going to echo this sentiment. Twenty six years and I still miss my mother horribly and would give anything to spend time with her holiday or not.

I'm glad you got time with them because we never know when that time will end. I hope you get a chance to relax before Christmas also.
