Default YDS was referred to occupational therapy today.

I'm not really surprised. He's had some trouble with his motor skills. The referral is just a way to see if he needs a therapy program now or if he just needs to practice it at home more. We work with him alot on things, but he seems to have the most trouble because he feels he needs to be perfect. He gives up very easily and thinks that if he doesn't do it right the first time, he'll never get it.

His reading level, on the other hand, is just amazing. Two months into kindergarden, he's reading at a mid to end-year Grade 1 level. It's really awesome. His teacher is doing a benchmark test again tomorrow to make a final analysis, but as it stands right now he's really far ahead. My plan now is to get him books for Grade 1 to 2 and see how he does. I'd like to try him with Grade 2 first, but I figured that might be a bit hard for him. His accuracy is 97% for the Grade 1.

Oh and he also got his first note from a friend today in school. This girl in our neighborhood who walks home with him, she had her mom and her sisters help her write a note to Dakota. It's so cute!
