What about saving your kids' xmas gifts for another day? Explain that Santa won't know where the other kids are and it would be mean to open their presents from Santa in front of them.

Hubby is my hero! He took care of it and they won't be joining us until tomorrow.

And for those who asked, mom and Dad are not in the picture.

I'm glad for your sake, but if MIL really didn't do anything for those kids, I am very sorry for them.

What a horrible situation. You should have been angry. I feel so sorry for those poor little children. I have nothing against people who don't celebrate Christmas or whatever, but she was coming to celebrate Christmas and she was going to allow those children to sit and watch while the other kids opened theirs? So sad.

I'm glad your hubs took care of it, best of luck getting through the rest of the visit!

Props to the DH for saving Christmas! YAY!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Just a little update. Mil did give the kids gifts before they left their home. I guess she thought that was enough. And it should have been but still with children as young as 6 you just can't not have a visit from Santa when he has always come before.

They didn't arrive at my home until 2:30 Christmas afternoon and that worked fine. It was hard for Dh to say something to his mom, but even he just couldn't let those kids sit and watch ours. She didn't seam to mind waiting and the entire thing came and went without incident. We have two more days and then they will return home.
