    Default Cloth Diapers

So not for us. Looks like we're going back to disposables.

The fuzzibunz are leaving little red marks around my chunky's legs but they're not too small. I guess her little sausage legs are just too thick.

They're so bulky too. Half of her pants don't fit well and her onesies don't go around them well. She also leaks out of them constantly even though I change her really often... She's also developed little skin irritations for the first time ever. I thought cding was supposed to be so good for their skin!

When you add up how much I spent on them I really don't even see them as saving me any money anyhow.

It's kind of sad. I really wanted it to work out.

~I'm sorry to hear they're not working for you. Cloth dipes worked great for us but I used Motherease and my kids are very skinny. Some clothes still didn't fit them right but I always felt that was a fair exchange for saving so much money and not filling up the landfills. Dd got rashes a few times from cloth dipes but I switched detergents and all was well again. You might try making a few adjustments before giving up on them altogether. You may also be able to find someone who is willing to trade your brand for one that may be more suitable for your dd.~

Sounds like it was the brand of diapers. Just like not all disposable diapers fit a certain child (ex: my son would explode out of huggies but not pampers or generic), cloth diapers fit differently. Maybe the leg holes are too tight in that brand for your child. We love Kissaluv and Bummis diapers and my son has chunky legs too. Also, you can "break" the elastic in the legs if need be to make them more flexible - Try that on one before you call it quits completely.

Also, there are some cloth diaper patterns circulating the web. If you are handy with a sewing machine you can save a ton by making them yourself. Also, diaperswappers (google it) might be an option if you don't like the brand of cloth diapers you got and want to try another brand. I've gotten good diapers there.

    Best of luck!

sorry it didn't work. I don't like fuzzibunz for that very reason...my girls have skinny legs so I'd have to do the snaps up tight and then it would chafe. I prefer fitteds and covers, much easier.

could also be the detergent and a buildup.

we loved bumkins!! maybe run them through the wash with baking soda and vinegar in the rinse to pull any irritants out.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. We're back in them now. I used the disposables and after a pack of them I decided I didn't like them either.

I've also been buying Lil's pants at size 12 months rather than 6 months in order to accommodate her large diapered tush.

I want to get some snappis and prefolds to try next.

Hey joyofsix, she's going to be out of these within a month or two so if you still need them then I'll make a note to ask you first.
