My ds will be turning 10 in a couple of weeks and wants to have a video game themed birthday party. We are borrowing some game systems from others so we can have three different games going on at one time so games are taken care of and he has requested a nacho bar for food. I still need ideas for decorations, party favors, and a cake that fit with the video game them without breaking the bank. Ds is allergic to red dye so keep that in mind with cake suggestions.
TIA!

Could you make a regular round cake and decorate it to look like the X-Box logo? I believe it would take greyish icing and neon-y green icing.

How about an old school PacMan cake? Easy with a round pan and you could make a trail across the table of power pellets (cupcakes). Check your public library's website to see if they have any games you can place a hold on for the evening. It might be fun to see if you could find some tickets (like Chuck E Cheese) to exchange for favors during the evening. Fun stuff, cheap like packs of gum and such. You could give them tickets based on points earned for each game.
