Some nice news about our family - for a change!
No I'm not going to bore everyone with the many, many stories about Christmas with the family.
However this morning Jan 1st 2010 at 12.01 am (our time) but Las Vegas time 3 pm PST on Dec 31st our nephew got married.
I have to be quite honest with you, when they said that they were going to get married in Vegas, I pictured something out of a movie - 'some cheesy quickie wedding etc.'
Please forgive me if I offend anyone here with this remark - it's because I didn't know any better.
We received a link that we could use at exactly 12 midnight (our time) so that we could watch the ceremony live in the chapel.
Well we had a quick toast at midnight for the new year and turned on the link.
What a beautiful ceremony!
It was extremely tastefully done and they looked genuinely happy and our family (here at home) teared up a lot while watching.
(I do have to admit that the sight of our niece in a mini dress hanging out of her seat trying to film everything did not enhance the occasion. Also the only people in the wedding party who looked happy were the bride and groom. However those are honestly the only negative things that I can say about the entire thing.)
The film that was made (by the chapel) was so nice - they had shots of Las Vegas in the film during the photo session and I can honestly say that I think it will be a great memory for them.
So nice to tell something nice about our family for a change.*Avril*

We had friends that were married in Vegas and videocasted their wedding over the internet. Like you, I was truly surprised at haw nice it was. I guess it all depends on the chapel a couples marries at and the type of wedding they want. Congratulations to your nephew and his new bride, Dutchie. I'm glad y'all got to "be there" when it happened.

Dutchie what a great way for you and your family to start the New Year - may they continue!!
