Need to share DD is her class Salutatorian
She came home and just casually dropped that in conversation last night. Then I find out there was a luncheon honoring the valedictorian and salutatorian and she didn't even tell us about it. She thought it was boring and we wouldn't want to go. That makes me question her actual smarts. She also didn't get any senior pictures so I'm printing off stuff from my digitals for her to turn into the school for the papers. That should look bad, LOL. I'm really proud but flummoxed by her complete lack of excitement about this.

Congratulations!! You've done a great job parenting and should be proud - regardless of her attitude!! What an honor that she worked hard for!!

Congrats to your DD, joyofsix! She could just have been playing it cool until she saw your reaction.
Who knows why teens do what they do, huh?
If she's still playing it cool, maybe she has stage/speech fright.

Congrats to her.........and you too.
And don't forget.......kids can take some flak from their peers for being 'too smart'....maybe that is the case with her.
Otherwise......she is just being 'humble'.........nothing wrong with that either!

WOW! That is something to be proud of!! Just think of the scholarship opportunities that she will have because of her status. Her 'smarts' are going to pay off in the long run. Way to go!!
