Mahalo - I'll be adding this to my list to do this week.

I made our DD a promise when she moved to the mainland to go to college that we would call her if any medical or family challenges came up and not wait until 'later when we know more' - and DH balked at calling her when they thought I had a heart attack two years ago - I made him hold to the promise.

Now I need to make a list of meds and issues in black and white for all of us.

Mahalo plenty for bringing this up - so important to every family - and I am the oldest on my side - need to start acting more responsible.
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

The crazy thing is that I knew my mom has dealt with high blood pressure on and off for a few years. What I didn't know is my dad has had high blood pressure for years and has been on meds for it.

Every stinkin time my BP was up at the doctors, I always said, just my mom deals with it.

I'm not going to make a big fuss over cholesterol because you can do everything right, and still have it. It doesn't always have to do with family history, but it can.

Thank goodness diabetes doesn't run in either side of our family that I know of. I don't have one cousin, Aunt, or Uncle that has it.

Palooka-it didn't in my family either. I went diabetic in April after going pre-diabetic in the previous year. I lost 23# and got my numbers down. My weight threw me in from my sugar, everything sugar attitude. Listen to your body and keep the weight down, please.

Our folks were quite retiscent about some medical histori - when thei were ioung, cancer was never spoken about, heck, it as not talked about as recentl as 40 iears ago (sorri, the letter after x is not working on mi laptop). Mi sister got a fair amount out since she is a nurse. Important to keep up with the meds and treatment - in an emergenci, having all of that available is critical. I take just one prescription, but hubbi takes a lot, I have them all in mi PDA with the dosage. Impressed the ER when we were last there.
