My sisters and brother have these blue eyes, while I have brown.
PICTURE THIS: 6th grade science class; the teacher states it is physically impossible for two blue eyed parents to have a brown eyed child. My hand goes up, & I say my eyes are brown and my mom & dad both have VERY blue eyes. She says "I'm sorry, but thats impossible". I go home and ask my mom (seriously) if I'm adopted and she said "No, of course not" and then I tell her what happened. She also remarked "you look JUST like your Dad's mother, just with brown eyes. She drove me to school the next morning and met with the teacher. During class later that day, the teacher amended the previous day's lesson to say that if the parent has just a microscopic speck of another color in they eyes, that yes they could have a child with brown eyes.
It think it was once believed that only one gene cause the trait for eye color. If you follow that simple example blue recessive parents should not have a brown eyed child.

    But that isn't/wasn't the case.

They now know that there are many different genes and factors that play a part . They now believe that chemicals and environmental factors outside and possible inside of the womb can play a part in determining eye color.

They do for a fact know that some medicines has the side affect of changing the eye color temporary and maybe permanently.

All my kids have blue eyes, although one tends towards grey. My husband and I both have blue eyes. However, in my family, at least, we are all the colors of the rainbow with eye color. I have one hazel eyed sister and an amber eyed brother. Plus, the three blondest of us all had blue eyes. Others were brown. We have are primarily British and German in our background.

my eyes are a light brightish blue ( sometimes depending on what color i am wearing i get asked if they are contacts )my momwas same blue - my dad was green - my brother and i have blue .

My husband has medium brown - my fil has blue my mil has such a dark brown they almost look black .
dh and his 7 siblings all have brown in varying shades - most medium - 2 are very drk brown .

4 of my 4 kids were born with the light bright blue - one was born with the blackish brown.

but as they got older their eyes changed usually by 12ish they settles on true eye color.

oldest 23 is a light greyish greenish blue changes a bit depending on what he wears
20 yo ( the brown eyed girl ) is a lightish brown with golden flecks
17 yo is a dark brownish green with some brown and gold flecks- he inherited some subtle color bllindness that my maternal grandfather had . He is the one that also looks the least like my other children but looks alot like my maternal grandfather.
14 yo is a light blue sometimes lens to a greyish blue with certain colors worn .
10 yo is a light blue but i also see his turning a bit greyish greenish like the oldest - i figure in next few years we will know for sure.

hair wise i am blonde- dh brown both my parents brown - dhs parents black and brown .

of my kids the 4 blue eyed were bald and blonde and came in curly blonde - 2 are still varying shades of blonde and curls one blonde straight hair - one is light brown wavy .

only brown eyed had pitch black hair with a bit of white ( birthmark ) in the back . that fell out and came in dark blonde- and the whitish is underneath hair and is still there but just looks like a lighter blonde- she highlites her hair a light blonde now but naturally she is a dark blonde according to the hairdresser lol
