The tooth fairy gives 3 quarters at my house. According to my 5 year old - who at the time hadn't learned money yet - it was quantity over amount. 3 quarters were better than a dollar. These were her words, not mine, so I ran with it

Now, if the tooth fairy is late picking up the tooth by a day or two...She get $1.50 for waiting patiently. LOL!

It was whatever change i had in my purse at the moment. Mostly .75 cent to a $1.50 a couple times i had forgot . Lucky me it had been raining and i told my daughter the tooth fairy couldn't get her wings and her fairy dust wet from the rain so she would have to come back the next night. LOL

We gave 50 cents a tooth, and our grandkids get a dollar. We give 50 bucks for every perfect dental checkup- no cavities, brushing and flossing regularly. That has always been motivating.

You can get sacajewea or presidential one dollar golden coins at the bank. They are a big hit with my neice and nephew and we will probably do the same with our DD.
