Our family likes to play Charades, and do things like this. Also, could you have friends over and have a cover=dish dinner and do game night with them, this is fun too.

Check your newspaper for any local fairs or festivals that might be happening. Many are family friendly.

In our tiny area, the local HS and various churches have free concerts, plays, etc. . . or for a small fee, the various sports games. . . there are free church leagues to play basketball, volleyball, baseball.
We also like to volunteer at the local food pantry as a family (help unload and pack boxes, help the elderly or disabled carry items, etc.)
We bundle up on cold, crisp nights and go star gazing (we live in the boonies, so not many competing city lights) . We pick out various constellations, etc.
We have theme nights -- for instance . . . 1930's Midwest. We fix a meal, dress accordingly (as much as our wardrobe allows) watch movies online in line with the theme, etc. This month's theme is "formal date". . . . so we're having a candle light dinner on the good china, everyone is dressing up for dinner, soft jazz music on the stereo. . . . and we've been learning some dance steps online, so we're going to be doing the waltz, Charleston, etc. . . also watching some old Frank Sinatra movies we borrowed from a friend.
