Question At what age will you let your children date?

I'm not sure about this one...it will depend on my dds' maturity levels when the situation arises.

Michelle, I'm not sure on this one either. I know with our older kids, our ds didn't start dating until he was 16. When dd wanted to date, we changed the age to 13 and have regretted it every since.

With our younger kids, I haven't come to that decision yet and they haven't taken an interest in dating as of yet. I guess will cross that bridge when we come to it.

We've said 16, IF she is mature enough.

I am guessing, (my ds in only seven) that it will be around sixteen or seventeen. And then it will only be in a group setting like a movie theatre, or church activity. Otherwise it will be supervised. I don't think my son will appreciate it then but he will when he is older.

We feel like 13 for group activities in public places without parents. ex. mall skating rink. One on one dates at 16, but that may change depending on the maturity level.

    30. I remember myself as a teen and it scares the s*** out of me that she will be out doing the things that I did. My mother finds this very amusing.

At our house it was 16 and only then with other kids. At 17 we evaluated the maturity level as well as the ability to make responsible decisions .

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

We've set it at 16, although if it were up to DH, it will be never. Ashlee is going to be 14 in 2 weeks, so it's coming up soon!

Sixteen for us as well and only in group settings. Once they turn 17 or 18 we might let them go by themselves. I just hope that now we can raise them w/the right values so that I don't worry about their decisions then.
