Did you videotape the birth of your child(ren)?
The reason I ask is that I am watching "Birth Stories" and I was asking myself if I would ever tape the birth. I am a pretty private person when it comes to my body, so I don't think I would. Please tell me if you did tape it....maybe at that point you just don't care...I just don't know if I could have family/friends over and pop in the tape and have the whole world see it....KWIM?
I was a "babynurse" (hence the name) for a short while and it is a beautiful experience and funny, not ONE family videotaped the actual birth!

Dh taped but I didn't want and he didn't want to see the actual "coming out" so there is puching and and then baby on my stomach. So it is a pretty G rated birth story. That was our 3rd the only one wwe had a video camera.
I have pretty gross pictures (stills) with my 1st and 2nd cuz I friend was taking the pictures and she wasn't paying attention to the background just the baby.
I got tho the point in all my labors were I didn't care if a marching band came in the room. I was just totaly in to me and doing that particular job. I had some demeral with the labors and that is about all, no eipdural, even tho I wanted one for the 3rd but I came in to the hospital a little to late for that. Oh well..

I had my mom and my sister in there watching the birth and they videotaped afterwards ..like watching ayla get cleaned up, weighed and me holding her and all that..But oh my goodness..one of the nurses suggested putting up a mirror so I could SEE her coming out..and she said some moms like that it gave them inspiration to push harder? so when the time came i let her put the mirror up OMG lol i hated it, and i made her put it away ...it totally made me LOSE my inspiration to push

Being private wasn't an issue, by the time I got that far into labour I couldn't have cared less if the milkman had walked in LOL. But video! No thanks
I have some gross still pics too, that the midwife took (unbeknown to me until I went and picked them up from the shop!
) She also did the mirror thing and I nearly had a fit LOL. Oh no the real thing was bad enough without reliving all the colourful words over again. Definately NO video

Heck, no! That would just be too gross to watch. Dh had a hard enough seeing it and he doesn't get sick easily.

No taping for me. I was not a happy person by the time dd decided to finally come out and definately would not have wanted to see a tape of the fit I threw.

We did not tape, but only because I wanted pics to scrap book with. Some of my pics had to be creativly cropped. As for the mirrors and such I am all for it. It is the most beautiful thing to me. I absolutly LOVED giving birth to all my children. I had not on drug with the first 3, but had an epidural with my last one. She was 9lbs.10 oz. I do wish I had taped them, but if you ever do you don't have to let anyone see it that you do not want to. I was the same way. You could have brought in a marching band I wouldn't have cared.

Yes, my stepmom taped both of my births, i had 2 c-sections. It was easier to have her tape them instead of my husband because i wanted him at my side.

We didn't and I wish we had. I was afraid of how I would react. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I was surprised how fast it went. I couldn't have cared less who was in there, and a video would have been great, we have lots of pictures my husband was able to take because I had a doula.
My gf taped both of her births, the whole thing, I loved watching them and wish I had the same wonderful keepsake.
