    Question Baby question.

I've been watching our neighbors 2 mo old lil girl for a while now and well here's the problem.I don't know whats wrong with her.She won't stop crying and its not just lil cries its wailing!!!Yesterday she cried for 6 out of the 8 hrs I had her.She doesn't go to the bathroom much and I think she's consitpated. She's on soy formula cause the reg formula gave her gas.I've tried everything to calm her down.

Amanda, she should have a BM at least everyday or every other day. It's hard enough to watch your own kids do this, but you're watching for the neighbor. She should call her pediatrician so the poor little thing (and you) can get some relief.

I agree with Danielle... thats not normal for her to cry that long, she's obviously uncomfortable.

She does this at home too.She has bm's at home but I've only changed 1 in 4 weeks here. And that is because I rubbed her tummy till it came out. She's sleeping now,I think she wore herself(and me)out.I walked up and down my stairs w/ her till she fell asleep.

momma needs to check with the doc to make sure there is nothing major going on with the little one. meanwhile while you are walking her around hold her like a football but with her tummy down against your arm and her head resting in the crook of your arm so it supported. you can rub her back witht he other arm. sometimes the gentle pressure of a baby's bodyweight can help if they are colicy or constipated.

Alexandra can't tolerate dairy proteins and was really upset practically entire days. I cut out dairy and she is much better.
The little one "should" outgrow it at her age soon, but maybe not. They really should look into another formula change for her.
My lactation consultant suggested bicycling her legs and I also give her myelicon drops too.
Formula can be very binding for a baby. (especially one with some gas problems) Poor baby and poor you.
I would rock Alexandra to sleep on my lap tummy down. It seemed to help. I did a lot of tummy massages too.

I was going to say bicycle the legs too. If she will take warm water from a bottle that can help. If I was mommy I would check with the doc.

I rock her on my legs and do the bicycle thing.goodness 30 min of sleep is all I got from her today.I told her mom she needs to take her to her ped to see if something else could be wrong and that to make sure nothing is wrong with her intestines.Everyone is telling her to give her corn syrup but I cautioned her cause it is known to cause botulism.lets hope she consults with her dr.before she does.

A couple of tsp of DARK Kayro syrup helps a lot. You can also use glycerine suppositories.

Poor sweetheart... I hope mommy does take her to the dr. Yes babies have their days where they will cry for hours on end, but not all day, every single day. Hugs to you- I can't imagine how frustrated you get since it's not yours and there's not much you can do...
